Contra-actions – waxing

A contra action is what you may see after a treatment. These can vary between clients and can be perfectly normal.
● Slight reddening or Erythema of the skin. This is the skins natural healing response and is perfectly normal.
● Raised Follicles are also present on some clients and these usually subside pretty quickly.
● Blood spots occur when the hair is thick and removed from the hair follicle whilst it is in the Anagen stage of growth. It is perfectly normal and heals within minutes.
● Hairs still feel prickly. Hair is in several stages of growth and length and it is impossible to achieve complete hair removal on a client. However, with regular wax treatments this starts to even out over time.
